The Hubbard model description of the photoemission TCNQ singular features

چکیده
In this paper we use the pseudofermion dynamical theory (PDT) in the study of the one-electron removal singular spectral features the one-dimensional Hubbard model. The PDT reveals that in the whole (k, ω)-plane such features are of power-law type and correspond to well defined lines of three types: the charge singular branch lines, the spin singular branch lines, and the border lines. One of our goals is the study of the momentum and energy dependence of the spectral-weight distribution in the vicinity of such lines. We find that the charge and spin branch lines correspond to the main tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) peak dispersions observed by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy in the quasi-1D organic conductor tetrathiafulvalene-tetracyanoquinodimethane (TTF-TCNQ). Our expressions refer to all values of the electronic density and on-site repulsion U. The weight distribution in the vicinity of the singular spectral lines is fully controlled by the overall pseudofermion phase shifts. Moreover, the shape of these lines is determined by the bare-momentum dependence of the pseudofermion energy dispersions. The Hubbard model description of the...

One - Electron Singular Branch Lines of the Hubbard Chain
– The momentum and energy dependence of the weight distribution in the vicinity of the one-electron spectral-function singular branch lines of the 1D Hubbard model is studied for all values of the electronic density and on-site repulsion U. To achieve this goal we use the recently introduced pseudofermion dynamical theory. Our predictions agree quantitatively for the whole momentum and energy b...
متن کاملSignatures of spin-charge separation in the 1D organic conductor TTF-TCNQ from photoelectron spectroscopy
We have studied the electronic structure of the quasi-one-dimensional organic conductor TTFTCNQ by angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (ARPES). The data reveal significant discrepancies to conventional band theory. Instead the experimental dispersions can be quantitatively reproduced by the one-dimensional (1D) Hubbard model, if one allows for a surface-enhancement of the hopping integral...
متن کاملSpectral functions in doped transition metal oxides
We present experimental photoemission and inverse photoemission spectra of SrTiO3−δ representing electron doped d 0 systems. Photoemission spectra in presence of electron doping exhibit prominent features arising from electron correlation effects, while the inverse photoemssion spectra are dominated by spectral features explainable within single-particle approaches. We show that such a spectral...
متن کاملTitle Pressure dependence of charge distribution along TCNQ columns in Cs 2 TCNQ 3
Pressure dependence of the charge distribution along the columns of tetracyanoquinodimethane (TCNQ) molecules in Cs2TCNQ3, which is a semiconducting 1/3-filled Hubbard system with the optical energy gap of 0.3 eV at ambient conditions, has been studied by the infrared and visible absorption experiments. An electronic phase transition is found to occur at around 3.5 GPa, in accordance with the p...
متن کاملNew method for evaluation of finite - energy few - electron spectral function expressions
We present a method for the calculation of few-electron spectral functions of the one-dimensional Hubbard model which relies on a pseudofermion description introduced recently in Ref. [6]. The spectral functions are expressed as a convolution of pseudofermion dynamical correlation functions. Our general method involves the direct evaluation of the matrix elements of pseudofermion operators betw...
